Maria Gu

Maria Gu is from Shanghai, China and resident in Helsinki, Finland since 1994. Maria holds a BSc and a Certificate of Professional Coach (CPC) from the International Coach Academy. Maria is also an ICF credential coach (ACC)

Prior to Coaching, Maria was actively involved with selling and sourcing business between China and Europe for 20 years, both as a senior leader in Finnish-based organizations and also as an entrepreneur running her own business. In China, Maria was the most successful sales executive of Heidelberg China. She has led and helped companies build up their sourcing and selling business from footholds to dominant positions. She has lived for at least four years each in Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing, Shenzhen in mainland China and has established solid networks to serve clients worldwide.

Maria accepts change readily and sees each change as an opportunity to enrich her life experience. The major changes she has made to her life are: from a national level athlete to a graphic expert; from a technician to a sales executive; from a business owner to a senior leader in a well known Finnish organization; from a China business expert to a professionally certified coach.

Currently, Maria is the president of ChinaPotential, an organization that helps companies and individuals deliver extraordinary business results through leadership and business coaching. She is also an ICA trainer facilitating regular training to new coaches around the world including China.

Maria speaks fluent English, Finnish and Chinese include Mandarin, Shanghainese and understands Cantonese.
